You might know who Franz Kafka is. Maybe you have read some of his books. But I doubt you know Milena Jesenská.

She's the one who Franz Kafka fell in love with. And he wrote a bunch of letters to her. All those letters are compiled into the book "Letters to Milena".

I just picked up the book. As I read it, I realized something. I don't know Milena. But I'm getting to know her now — through Kafka's letters.

Milena still exists in Kafka's letters. She lives on.
